The City of Hollywood and Walker Consultants are preparing a long range parking plan for the Hollywood Beach Barrier Island. Parking Consultants visit Hollywood Beach.

On February 15th, Walker Consultants met with a few of our board members to gather insights on parking in the beach area. The city has hired this firm to study and make recommendations to improve parking and to suggest solutions. Besides providing spaces for patrons of beach businesses there is a need to offer affordable parking for employees. According to Jim Corbett of Walker, they are meeting with various civic associations and will be walking our area to count and evaluate parking.

Hundreds turned out for the 17th annual Groundhog Day Swim at Hollywood Beach.

New this year is a beach run as well as the traditional Tug 'O War. Mayor Levy and Commissioner Debbie Case were on hand as well as other local officials to celebrate. This event raises money to pay for the Hollywood Beach Lifeguards participation and travel expenses for lifeguard competitions. CBS Channel 4 News was on hand to cover this wonderful event.

It must be time for the 14th Annual Groundhog Day on Hollywood Beach, a time-honored tradition celebrating hope for a warmer tomorrow – or at least a significant warm-up by noon. The event will take place on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 a.m. at Ocean Alley Restaurant and Beach Bar, located at 900 N. Broadwalk (at A1A & Indiana Street) on the world-famous Hollywood Beach Broadwalk.
