A1A Groundbreaking Ceremony

Hollywood officials and HBBA members were on hand Monday, October 9th for the groundbreaking ceremony for the A1A improvements. The road will be undergoing extensive upgrades for the next year and a half. This includes putting utilities underground, increasing the width of sidewalks, new paving, landscaping and lighting. The work will occur from Monroe Street north to Sheridan Street.

Project Overview: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded a $9,366,292.09 contract to Community Asphalt Co. including $2,914,245.00 from the City of Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for improvements along A1A from Sheridan Street to Monroe Street in Hollywood. Permit Fees Waived for Common Storm Repairs To help expedite repairs required as a result of damage caused by Hurricane Irma, the City of Hollywood is waiving permit fees for common storm related repairs such as fencing, roofs and A/C replacements for 90 days as of September 21, 2017. There is also prioritized review of these permits.
