Beach Investigation Leads to All Suspects Arrested. A Message From : Josh Levy,  Mayor of Hollywood . Hollywood Beach lost one of its true champions with the passing of Audrey Joynt in March. A native of Philadelphia, she is survived by her husband, Joe. Also surviving are children, Joanne Kowaluk, Jacqui Rowley and Marty and Brian Joynt as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Audrey and Joe met on a moonlight cruise on the Potomac River, a meeting they sailed to 67-years of marriage. Audrey and Joe came to Hollywood in 1975 to help move Audrey's mother. Sea Turtle Nesting Season Begins March 1- Lighting ordinances to take effect on the County's coastline - BROWARD COUNTY, FL - March 1 marks the official start of sea turtle nesting season. The Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program (BCSTCP) documented a record-setting 3,650 nests on the County's 24-mile coastline (including the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park) in 2022. Three species of sea turtles typically nest on Broward's beaches: leatherbacks, loggerheads and green turtles.
